Trump doesnt have a plan to fight the virus on purpose. He puts the onus onto the state governors to figure out how to move ahead to deflect blame

Leadership at the state and city level, or in NY’s case, a lack.

NYC is not the only major hub with international airports. LAX had flights pouring in from China and Europe, same as NY

Swing and a miss from you..as usual.

So dishonest. NYC has 28K people/sq mile, LA has 8500. Mass transit is the way people get around in NYC while LA is the land of the automobile.

https://www.governing.com/gov-data/population-density-land-area-cities-map.html

Of course it spreads slower in LA. Duh.

Everybody gets to learn from New York's experience. The first thing to come out of it is that nobody can depend on the Trump admin, not even the city that is the wellspring of his wealth. Trump doesn't take responsibility for anything, but we get daily doses of his self aggrandizing bullshit & people trying to shift the blame away from his utter incompetence & that of his GOP sycophants. It's fucking Versailles on the Potomac.

NYC is not the only high density city whose population relies on public transportation. If we’re going to hold leaders accountable for what they could have or should have done, that analysis doesn’t end at Versailles.

So interesting how Trump initially dumped into the laps of our state's governors the job of rising to the challenge of mitigating the effects of the pandemic while now attempting to appear he is in control of their actions in order to take credit for anything positive that the governors of our states have made happen. New vocabulary needs to be created to match the sheer ineptitude, the arrogance, the indescribable damage that he has done to the nation, all due to his narcissistic egomaniacal personality disorders.

Throughout this pandemic rampaging its way through our nation it became more and more obvious how Trump's main concern was self-preservation and how the crisis was affecting his own finances and his own chances of getting reelected. The shithead is even now influence peddling his way into making positions of profit and advantage for himself.

The Art of the Deal indeed.

So what? Density in the NYC metro is 50% higher than any other area in the nation. Reliance on public transit is much higher than elsewhere. It was also likely one of the earliest entry point of covid19.

Do you think de Blasio effectively managed the crisis as it evolved and effectively coordinated with Governor Cuomo? Yes or no will suffice.

There are lots of other dense cities in the world that haven't seen the outbreak like New York has. De Blasio definitely fucked up, and fucked up badly. None of that changes the fact that Trump has fucked up to an almost unimaginable degree. Starbuck's issue is that he's tried to use the failures of other officials to excuse Trump's failure and how he's downplayed the effect of government intervention when it comes to excusing Trump and then played it up when it comes to indicting De Blasio.

The right answer is that government interventions matter, and they matter a lot. De Blasio failed his constituents and should be held accountable. Trump failed on a far larger scale though, and so his accountability is far greater.

Cuomo fucked up too. You don't seem to want to mention that.

It's pretty clear that this specific pandemic has highlighted a number of issues across the board. From pandemic preparedness to healthcare tied to employment, to our subpar social programs.

It seems pretty clear that conservatives and their sympathizers arent really concerned about anything other than felating the FYGMers

People get so wrapped up on the blaming game. No President would have thought this could have happened, and if you say one would have, you are just lying to yourself.

This mess would of happened anyways because of fear people have today with all the Apocalypse movies & TV shows that have been coming out the last 10 years.

I would like to see all major cities do studies, look at feces, take anti body tests to see what real numbers of people who have had the Covid-19 already.

This is absolute nonsense. Of course no president would have been able to prevent this entirely but there were lots and lots of things Trump could have done after he was already warned that a pandemic was coming that he didn't do. If anything, he actively made the situation worse by lying to the American people, undercutting experts, etc.

This was lying and incompetence that got people killed and we should never, ever forget it. He deserves to lose his job for his performance here alone.

Yet Bush II and Obama did exactly that.

South Korea's president thought it could happen and acted accordingly. You're the one lying to yourself.

What exactly did Cuomo fuck up? Be specific
As you guys say 'the buck stops here.'

And yes Trump misjudged this as well. I think given the late start (his own fault) and the amount of idiots that are too cool to social distance it's not as bad as it could be.

And the South Korean people deserve credit here as well. We had a bunch of assclowns making out at spring break or packing beaches by the thousands. I heard people were playing tons of pickup basketball in NYC well after the fact that Corona was a real thing.
