Good news, everyone!

The deranged neoconservative derp state plant known as "Mad Dog" Mattis is about to be thrown into the dustbin of history just like all Trump's other appointments (eventually).

I'm not exactly sure why Trump is doing this, my guess is paranoia resulting from Op/Ed-Gate. Trump is probably too stupid to realize that Mattis would never jeopardize his child-bombing privileges to write some stupid Op/Ed for NYTs. I'm 100% sure it wasn't Mattis who wrote that, but Trump obviously has made up his mind. The good news is that Mattis is probably one of only 2 administration members left who hold any clout. The sooner we get him out of there, the better.

Can I just say that the secondary candidates for a replacement are ridiculous? What do Tom Cotton and Lindsey Graham know about defense strategy? I'm not even sure I'd say Trump would choose them for loyalty, since Graham in particular has said bad things about Trump in the past (even if he's been unwilling to back that up with dissenting votes).

Yeah like Lindsey before the election calling Trump a kook, and then this week saying people now calling him a kook are crazy.

A little heavy on the hyperbole.

Funny thing is this op-ed writer never did anything to stop almost 2000 Americans from dying in P.R. He never did anything to stop the rich from getting their tax cut at our cost.

So fuck him/ her whoever it is.

It's ok to say bad things about Trump in the past as long as you now praise him, Lindsey's been doing a great job of being a Trump toadie as of late.

So I guess the next person to take over from Mattis will have to have as their highest qualification the ability to smooch and tickle Trump's ass (ego) while deftly and with much more discretion and infinite patience (than Mattis) keep Trump from starting a nuclear exchange with somebody who insulted his self-described genius or at the least prevent his boss from giving the Military Industrial Complex more money than they know what to do with.

The way Lindsey is positioning himself front and center as a Trump loyalist is sickening to say the least. What's much more reprehensible about this political ploy of his is how he debases and belittles himself in order to get what he wants out of Trump. It seems to me Lindsey thinks Trump is ripe for the picking in this regard seeing as if it's fairly obvious that Trump sorely needs pampering and solace right about now.

I used to have some respect for Graham, but with his Trump ass-kissing lately that's all disappeared.
With his friend McCain gone, I fear he has embraced the darkside of the force.

Didn't stop? The author thinks that running an enormous deficits in time of prosperity to funnel more money to people who already take it all is an accomplishment.

Not surprising that this was likely to lead to an excuse for firing some people Donnie already was butting heads with.

It was a blatant, self-serving propaganda piece. I mean, look at this crap:

"To be clear, ours is not the popular “resistance” of the left. We want the administration to succeed and think that many of its policies have already made America safer and more prosperous."

I don't know man--no one has yet penetrated that reinforced steel closet door that Graham has defended for nearly 7 decades now. I think he's pretty good with defense, tbh.

Lindsey is almost certainly going to be brought charges regarding documents obtained from Michael Cohen, and shenanigans related to the RNC finance board. He knows it, and his only chance is hoping for a quick pardon by the cheeto, assuming the cheeto remains in power long enough. Only way to get one is to kiss the ring. Even though it looks like Trump will be gone by the end of 2019, it's Lindsey's best bet at this point.

Pure conjecture. Graham is up for re-election in 2020 so it's important to maintain his bonafides with his Trump crazed GOP base. If he doesn't they'll try to primary him from the right. That's a serious threat for all GOP politicians, particularly in places like S Carolina.
