I wonder if he just doesn't know anyone that didn't run against him or helped with his campaign. But I am all for him taking as many republican congressman out of congress as possible, especially Cruz.

Yes! Do it! Gets Cruz out of the Senate and effectively ends his political career.

This is almost as frighting as the Kobach rumors. If it is Cruz I doubt he makes it two years given his reputation of being extremely difficult to work with.

They're not taking Cruz out of a safe Senate seat. This is getting ridiculous.

I do not think Cruz's seat is safe because of Cruz. Cruz might want to take the job because the outlook for him in the senate is bleak. There is no good will left for him even among the GOP senators and he can no longer rely on railing against the "Washington Cartel." His presidential dream is effectively shredded.

Yeah because Republican Governor Abbott probably won't appoint a Republican to replace him and a Republican running for the Senate in Texas won't win. derp.

Yeah, in Texas that is true, but Trump will probably be dumb enough to pull some from blue states. Plus Cruz is a horrible senator, so like I said, I am all for him being pulled, even though he would be replaced by another republican.

I wouldn't even let that asstard prosecute a five year old child for threatening his older sister with a fresh booger out of his left nostril. (everyone knows the left nostril produces the most gross boogers).

BUT! Every single Bankster, Big Oil tycoon and Wall St. scam artist will breath a sigh of relief knowing they will never be prosecuted for even the most egregious white collar crimes that ever was, being and will be committed in the nation's history. Well, except the ones that sued Trump for services rendered, of course.

So I guess that's a good thing.

I think Democrats should be working on how to limit the Republicans house pick-ups in 2018 and how to keep the Republicans from picking up 8-10 Senators in the next election cycle. The way it's looking now the Republicans will be even more entrenched in the coming years. Throwing minor hissy fits and violent rioting/protests isn't going to give them much sympathy from the country.

^ I agree but your post seems out of the blue considering the thread at hand.

And shit just hit the fan! This is gonna be good. As much as I don't like slimy Ted, he's definitely qualified for the position.

Serious question Speedy. How do you feel about Ted becoming AG?
If Trump were to get investigated over some ethics charge which is very possible considering his businesses and him seeming to want to still be involved in them. Would Cruz be fair and thorough?
Honestly I don't know. He really likes Pence

I think he'd be fair because he pulls the self righteous card so much that he may actually believe his own BS. Not to mention that he obviously isn't very fond of Trump. I mean, who the hell says they're going to endorse you and then doesn't do it at your party's convention and says "Vote your conscience" as a F U to the person you said you'd endorse?

Overall I think it'd also be good for the FBI to get someone from their own party in there since there have been reports of people resigning over how the DoJ handled the HRC emails. It would also bode well for Comey's future. So bottom line is that I don't like the guy, but it would give a good appearance for his admin since the perception is that Ted is self righteous and doesn't have a cozy past with Trump. It would also show that Trump is able to bury the hatchet with past foes, something that MSM insinuates is one of his weaknesses.

Ashcroft 2.0. Except slimier.
But Ashcroft showed he had a spine and some very sound moral principals when Gonzales and GWB's chief of staff visited him in the hospital to try and twist his arm to reauthorize GWB's secret domestic surveillance program. Ashcroft threw them out of the room.

For that stand alone he came way up in my opinion.

Cruz as Atty General would remind Americans every day what a corrupt, partisan and fringe wing government they elected.

Basically anybody that has walked into, or out of, the Trump tower has an article written about them and what cabinet position they are being considered.

The real cabinet candidates are probably entering the Trump tower out of the concealed underage prostitute and sex party entrance.

Obviously the best cabinet position for Cruz is Creepy Uncle. (C'mon, we all know there's gonna be one.)

Better than the Supreme Court.
I'm pretty sure that stating any possible connection whatsoever between Cruz and SCOTUS is grounds for eternal damnation.* Gonna have to check with the Pope, but I'm pretty sure.

*Except for this statement pointing it out.

Aren't they uncomfortable walking under the big "WELCOME BILL CLINTON" sign?

Ugh, dear Lord no. I like the idea of reaching out even to people who might have opposed you (or don't like you at all) to include them in the administration if you think they are qualified, but Cruz is just a nutjob. Trump correctly labeled him "Lyin' Ted", making Lyin' Ted the attorney general doesn't make any sense.

If I was Trump, I would start reaching out specifically to relative moderates from the other side of the isle to include them. If they refuse, then they can't later on bitch about the administration because they were given a chance to be a part of the solution but refused. Either way, it shows you want to form a coalition of qualified people, even if you don't always see eye to eye with them.

No way that's happening though, they are going to include only ideologically 'pure' people who will be loyal.
