Trump's oldest son, Donald Trump Jr., reached out to a Kasich advisor after the Ohio governor ended his own presidential campaign, promising that if he accepted the vice presidency, Kasich would be in charge of domestic and foreign policy. The advisor asked what Trump would be in charge of, the report said, and Trump Jr. responded: "Making America great again."

gotta wonder what kind of deal he made with Pence... between stuff like this and previous quotes of Trump's bragging about how much he'll delegate as President, it kinda makes you wonder wtf he actually plans to do in the Oval Office.

kinda feels like the same premise of Trump licensing his name out to buildings so that he can get the prestige of having something named after him without actually having his own money invested in the project.

Outside of being in charge of domestic and foreign policy the only thing left is the ceremonial stuff.

So Trump offered Kasich all the work but not Air Force One?

I though it was always fairly apparent that he just wants to win the presidency not actually BE president.

Now that I think about it, Trump is never going to work as POTUS, he'll delegate everything in fear of losing hair.

I mean, look how much Obama has aged over 8 years, and he is BLACK!!!!

He's the guy that signed the law allowing discrimination of gay people in his state. Blowback hit and he turned tail and ran.

Trump doesn't really want to do the job of President. He just wants to stroke his ego with the title.

He is the current Governor of Indiana and he was running for re-election but thanks to his discrimination against the Gay community and his attempt at banning abortion there are signs all over the place saying Pence Must Go.

He had no chance of winning re-election which is why he went for the VP spot.

Anonymous sources. Yep, sounds 100% legit confirmed ;)

Since we have two absolute turds to choose from this cycle, I'd be perfectly happy if whoever wins delegates everything to an actual qualified candidate. Whether hildebeast will nominate someone qualified for VP remains to be seen though.

I saw this briefly on one of the channels and can't believe it isn't the headline story on all the channels. Assuming it's true (and Kaisch has little to nothing to gain by torpedoing the Trump run at this stage) it is stunning and monumental in it's scope.

Kaisch should release the actual email to the public.

This has the potential of being far, far bigger than Romney's 49% comment. Basically Trump is conceding he is playing his supporters for chumps and anyone seriously thinking of voting GOP should instead be taking a good hard look at Pence.

BTW it goes without saying that the Trump campaign is in full denial mode on this.

The Trump campaign shooting itself in the foot nearly every day (OK, well that is mostly Trump) seems to make more sense now.

Subconsciously, Trump fears the potential of actually having to work for once in his life.

I also doubt that he understands that, as president, "the people" are his boss, and he isn't anyone's boss. It's certainly something that he would never accept.

why not? This is how most leaks and how most reporting as been done for generations.

Now you can only trust it if the press is forced to reveal their sources?

My reply is the 22nd to this topic. On the other hand Melania's speech has already generated hundreds of replies.

And this is pretty much representative of US. Substantiate or serious stuff gets printed on the page 40 of the paper but stupidest stuff gets all the front page headlines.

If Newshour doesn't mention it in their standard broadcast tonight or at the very least during their convention coverage when that panel is struggling to discuss anything during those grueling 3 hour coverage blocks....then we'll know we are all lost.

This story came out early yesterday but the reporting was done by The Hill and New York Post even though both attributed it to NYT. At that time, I was not able to find the original NYT story via Google News. That was rather strange. I thought this should have become a bomb shell.

As I have said many times before, it is completely hopeless. I can't see any votes being changed from now until the election nor should they. People who support Trump nothing will change their mind. People who are supporting Clinton will never vote for Trump. People who have not made up their mind yet are utter morons.

Whether PBS Newshour discusses it or not is materially important. They probably have 0.00001% of the voting population watching it.

Heck, that chilling 60 minute interview has been barely mentioned in this forum.

Didn't Trump get the record number of votes? Didn't Clinton get more votes than him?

Why is then this election being called as choosing between two most hated candidates? How come "most hated candidates" got the record number of votes in the primary?
