Maybe Trump's not as popular and GOP leadership seems to think he his.

Trump backers lose big as Ciattarelli claims GOP nomination in N.J. - POLITICO

Jack Ciattarelli, a three-term former member of the New Jersey General Assembly who was backed by the state’s GOP establishment, defeated three other Republicans — two of whom centered their campaigns around loyalty to the former president — to win his party’s gubernatorial nomination. The selection of Ciattarelli in heavily Democratic New Jersey bucks a national trend of Republicans supporting candidates linked to the former president.

Only because NJ is a blue state. GOP primary voters likely realized that the Trump humpers had no chance to win in the state general election because Trump has like 28% approval there. In any purple or red state, the Trump humper candidates will win every time.

Well also the two Trumphumpers split the vote. If it was just one of them, it would have been close at least.

Remember folks, don't be fooled, there's no such thing as a good Republican anymore.

No matter how depressing the political situation is the US is, I can't shake the feeling that a few blocks will fall and the entire Trump psychosis will end.
Unfortunately the most likely scenario is that the only way the Trump psychosis ends is if someone worse than him takes over.

Probably not. Trump is the greatest con artist our society has ever produced, utterly unique in his ability to fuck with people's minds.
