Trump approval rating near 50%. Can anyone explain that to me?

Democrat leadership is wishing and hoping it comes true, they see it as a "tremendous opportunity"

Scurrilous attribution of motive is a very old propaganda technique. Dems wish it weren't happening at all along with the rest of the people on the planet. OTOH, the GOP has no answers for the calamity that has befallen us other than corporate bailouts, bootstraps & bullshit. We saw that in the difference between Senate & House proposals. Save the bondholders or save the families. Pick your vision.

Because this country is full of ignorant morons?

Usually at times of crises (after 9/11), even self-invented ones like the Iraq Invasion, support skyrockets. Nobody wants to go after leadership at a critical time.

That assumes there is actual "leadership" to be found.

In word and deed, this government is not only clueless they are actively harmful to everything BUT the virus.

Just today the G7 meeting broke up because the U.S. insisted it should have "Wuhan" in the title. Good thing we have our priorities straight and are ready to work with the rest of the world to combat this menace.

I would explain it by saying that the bump small as it is due to the President's virus response. We are all going to survive, it will pass soon, everybody will be taken care of, and everybody is going to get a check. They can tell that the President is really really really interested in the virus problem, mistakenly assuming his concern is about them, when what is real concern is that it will cost him millions and the election.

He's pandering to prejudice. It's all about getting re-elected. Trump even says so-

Trump & the GOP had mismanaged the economy before Covid19 ever showed up. It all comes back around to bonds, same as it was in 2008. It's just corporate bonds instead of mortgage bonds and the necessary exercise of the Greenspan Put to keep it from really going to Hell in a handbasket. The FRB intervened in the repo market way back in September. That falling into disarray was a symptom of much deeper problems.

We'd all like to believe that we have competent leadership in this crisis, some of us a lot more than others. It's a damned shame that we don't, something that should become readily apparent over the coming months. We'll sacrifice a lot of lives learning that lesson.

And isn't it convenient he's able to blame the inevitable bust on the virus? As well as get bipartisan support for the trillions in bailouts to cover it all up? Donnie is makin it rain free govt money, and the Republicans love it! Because it's the Democrats' fault they can't go back to work.

Decades of cutting education funding by republicans is paying off bigly.

It's a double win for them, make people dumb and stick it to the unions who they fucking loathe.

Edit: and it's hilarious that 50% of the country thinking he's a shithead is record approval for this guy.
What unions, the ones the democrats paid lip service to during elections for the last 30+ years and then undercut them by passing all those corporate friendly free trade agreements, and somehow telling all those people losing their union jobs get educated or be cast out was going to keep the democrat party large and in charge?

One example when the UAW went on strike , all the democrat candidates were playing the union advocate grandstanding for votes.

But here is the reality of the situation.

This part number, 23276089, is the ignition switch in a late model Chevy Colorado made in china or mexico like many other parts in that vehicle,

1610716__2.jpg

in the heyday of unions those parts would have been made by American union employees who kept the democrats in power by voting for them during elections,

thanks to the say anything for votes but do nothing democrats most of the subcomponents are now made in china or mexico along with all those millions of jobs, but there is one question that our so called union first democrats avoid answering, those people in china and mexico making all those parts today for gm in this example, what local of the UAW do they belong to, what democrat fundraiser did they attend, and last but most important which democrat candidates did they vote for to keep those pro corporate republicans at bay?

You can thank all the mostly big city and coastal democrats with their student loan financed degrees who hate one thing more than republican deplorables, uneducated union democrats making more than them and able to buy bigger toys and bigger homes because of it.

You people deserve Trump more than the Trumpsters themselves do.

Trump is currently enjoying record approval rating. Seems like many peple are happy with his response to this pandemic. WTF? I think he's done a horrible job. I just don't get it.

If things keep happening that are opposite in what you think should happen, maybe you need to rethink your position.

It doesn't help when Biden finally speaks and he proclaims "We have to take care of the cure that will make the problem worse no matter what" .

Now they are destined to repeat it by once again never learning their lessons and continuing to peddle to the to h elite established. Tsk tsk. Trump will win in 2020, and every bit of fault is on you guys from not learning from your mistakes that have been yelled into your ears the last 4 years.

Not that I oppose free trade or anything but just in case you didn’t realize it, free trade was a republican thing. In fact it was your previous demigod, Reagan who ran on the North American accord and it was him who signed a trade agreement with Canada. That same agreement was the basis for the other republicans created agreement, NAFTA, that was created under bush sr and signed by Clinton.

You, I’m guessing, being a former factory worker, should probably work on getting a better education because it seems your ignorance is leading to your own hardships.

But please, go on and complain about democrats who’ve had complete control of government for all of about three years total since you pledged your support to the GOP.

So no, I think we’ll continue blaming the morons whose policies we’ve been living under for the last 40 years.

He's not a republican dipshit, and neither are most people here that you accuse of such. Just because people give criticism to a democrat candidate doesn't mean they are republican.

Quit being such a partisan moron that can never take criticism of your party or candidates.

You're being purposely dishonest like your savior!

When are trolls going to be reigned in or is it now acceptable?
How so? Did or did not the Democratic Whip of the majority party claim that
"“a tremendous opportunity to restructure things to fit our vision.” ?

It's a damn fact he said it. If being "dishonest" or a "troll" is actually telling the truth about the Democratic Whip and included a link to a reputable site where and how and why he said it then we've entered a strange 1984ish place.

So Trump and the Republicans just handed Wall Street a multi-trillion dollar bailout, but it's the Dems peddling to the elite? Seriously?
