Assuming anything above trolling (in comments about country X needing an 'ass kicking'), to push personal political agendas.

For example, I came across the ridiculous idea lately (online) that for Trump to win 'in Iran' he should impose more human rights related sanctions. This while at the same time the USA has lobbied like crazy in the UN to prevent the UNHCR from visiting Yemen to examine human rights abuses/war crimes. Where are the sanctions against Saudi Arabia for its human rights record (USA or EU sanctions)? Why does the USA administration make a big deal about missiles being exported to Iran and its missile tests when the 'Saudi led coalition' has used cluster bombs and other weapons which should NOT be exported to Saudi Arabia, and have clearly butchered parts of the civilian population in Yemen and amount to war crimes? Those bombs are being manufactured by some of the USA's key allies, some of whom pathetically deny that those are their bombs because, duh, in the explosion the serial numbers are no longer complete or fully legible.

Take a wild guess why people love to comment that Iran needs a beating - and I mean, most posters on this forum aren't pushing the regional hegemony angle (hoping that Saudi remains a regional power etc.). It's because people are creating the Axis/Allies again in their own minds which is why there was panic when Trump announced the potential for dropping sanctions against the Russian federation, but no one batted an eyelid re: the settlement bill passed by the Knesset on 6 February 2017.

Lots of distraction going on right now. The corporate controlled media, the president, the politicians are all throwing out stuff to keep the American people distracted and constantly talking about "stuff." It seems to be working.

Our rulers know how to manipulate us in more ways than we realize.

Raildogg with the bi-daily "THE ELITES CONTROL MY CABLE BOX, BUT ONLY MY MOM IS FOOLED" rant.

Even if what you say is true, so what? What purpose is it for you to cast your pearls amongst us swine-like sheep, when clearly only you can comprehend the truth?

You don't think the billionaires have an interest in preserving their wealth? Would they risk it on things they can't control or would they try to control as much of society as possible?

When the average person is only talking about what the corporate media reports, the plan is working.

I don't think "the corporate controlled media, the president, the politicians" are capable of that. If you are referring to the myriad different and competing "corporate controlled media" companies who often represent diametrically opposed potions on different political issues, along with the imbecile walmart-greeter-in-chief who can barely form 3 coherent sentences, and the moron politicians we have in congress who rarely last 10 years... then I would completely disagree with your conspiracy theory. They aren't capable of it.

Show some evidence, or at least cut your daily rants to maybe once or twice a week? I'm sure you're convincing nobody. They're (we're) clearly not smart enough to understand the great, vague, matrix-like conspiracy you're trying to redpill us with.

Trump = Zaphod.

Achievements
Zaphod invented the Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster. He was voted "Worst Dressed Sentient Being in the Known Universe" seven consecutive times. He's been described as "the best Bang since the Big One" by Eccentrica Gallumbits, and as "one hoopy frood" by others. In the seventh episode of the original radio series, the narrator describes Beeblebrox as being the "owner of the hippest place in the universe" (his own left cranium), as voted on in a poll of the readers of the fictional magazine Playbeing.

He was briefly the President of the Galaxy (a role that involves no power whatsoever, and merely requires the incumbent to attract attention so no one wonders who's really in charge, a role for which Zaphod was perfectly suited). He is the only man to have survived the Total Perspective Vortex, though it was established (in the books and first two radio series) that he survived only because he was in an Electronically Synthesised Universe created especially for him, thus making him the most important being in that universe and thus uniquely equipped to survive its version of the Vortex. His brain-care specialist, Gag Halfrunt, also said, "Vell, Zaphod's just zis guy, you know?" He used his position as President of the Galaxy to steal the Heart of Gold, a spaceship taking advantage of Infinite Improbability Drive, at its unveiling.

Early in Zaphod's career (whilst heading the The Beeblebrox Salvage and Really Wild Stuff Corporation) he joined forces with the Safety and Civil Reassurance Administration to investigate the loss of the Starship Billion Year Bunker, on which were stored compounds so powerful a teaspoonful could blow up/infect/irradiate a whole planet, and by-products of The Sirius Cybernetics Corporation synthetic personalities programme.[1]

As a character
As a character, Zaphod is hedonistic and irresponsible, narcissistic almost to the point of solipsism, and often extremely insensitive to the feelings of those around him. In the books and radio series, he is nevertheless quite charismatic which causes many characters to ignore his other flaws. Douglas Adams claimed that he based Zaphod on an old friend of his from Cambridge called Johnny Simpson, who "had that nervous sort of hyperenergetic way of trying to appear relaxed."[2]

In (at least) the books, he is, according to screening tests that he ran on himself in the Heart of Gold's medical bay, "clever, imaginative, irresponsible, untrustworthy, extrovert, nothing you couldn't have guessed" (Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide, page 98). In the movie, however, he is not very bright, and perhaps even more boorish than his previous portrayals. He is portrayed as a vacuous California surfer-type, and Sam Rockwell, the actor who played him in the film, cited Bill Clinton, Elvis Presley and George W. Bush as influences.[3] Zaphod in the film is very much immature (in contrast to the books where he was immature, but had a lot of power and was smart and devious), acting very eager about everything, eating messily with his hands, throwing temper tantrums, and doing things without reason, such as pressing the Improbability Drive button just because it was large and shiny.

Throughout the book and radio versions of the story, Zaphod is busy carrying out some grand scheme, has no clue as to what it is and is unable to do anything but follow the path that he laid out for himself. Zaphod's grand schemes have included, over time, a second-hand ballpoint pen business (which may or may not have been established with the help of Veet Voojagig). He was forced to section off the part of his brain that stored the plan so that scans of his mind, which would be necessary for him to become president, wouldn't reveal his plan, which included his being President of the Galaxy and subsequently stealing the prototype Infinite Improbability Drive starship. However, in his altered state of mind he follows the path he left only reluctantly and very much wishes to go off and lie on beaches rather than see the scheme through. In the second radio series and the book version of The Restaurant at the End of the Universe, we learn (and so does Zaphod) that the object of his plan was to find the man who actually ruled the universe – who turns out to be a man living in a shack with his cat who doesn't believe anything is real or certain except that which he is seeing and hearing at that moment.

Your welcome to ignore them. I don't do it for popularity's sake. In fact, it's better to go along with the mainstream than to speak against it. If I can show one person that the corporate interests oppose the interests of the average person, then I'll be OK with that.

These people are running the show. Who do you think the politicians pander to when they run for office? Who goes to the thousand dollars a plate dinners? Ask yourself this: What's in it for Murdoch's various "news" outlets to report on things that might jeopardize his $12.5 billion fortune in any way?

It's in the interest of the ultra wealthy to preserve their wealth through various means. It's not just one area - it's through control of the whole system via politics, media, etc. The multi-billionaires favor certain policies that affect them and that goes beyond their competition with other billionaires. Rupert Murdoch, Ted Turner, Comcast etc. are bringing you your news. It's no coincidence that they usually report on similar stories but offer differing opinions on those stories.

If you want some actual physical "proof" and articles, then that will have to wait a bit. I guess if there are any people on Anandtech who are fed up with the current BS, they don't need any more convincing.

Bubble life must be great. The only fascist I have seen are the left leaning individuals that wish to impose their way of thinking on others via any means necessary, and are ok with foreign governments openly proclaiming that they will spend the necessary funds to block our court systems to prevent enforcement of the laws of the United States.

Wow! Did you seriously just post that whole thing while simultaneously ignoring the very recent history of the Republican party doing exactly what you claimed the left are doing?

I don't think you could have painted a better picture of yourself and "your team" better than you just did with that post!

Bubble life indeed!!!
