When all you have or are is a hammer, everything is a nail. He knows one way to "resolve" conflicts: bully, lie, blame and sue. He has launched thousands of lawsuits. He cheats contractors and partners and tells them to pound sand, and if it gets taken to court and he loses, oh well.
Not a great mindset or methodology for dealing with a global crisis, but we knew that going in when "we" elected this boob, now didn't we.
Can't bully a virus. He's tried to talk tough about it, but it doesn't care. Can't sue one either. But oh my he's managed to lie about it. And as far as blame, he's blamed (and tell me if I've missed one): China, Democrats, the Media, and back to China.
If he had strong advisors that actually knew how to handle a crisis, and he was willing to listen to them, then maybe that wouldn't matter. But he doesn't, and he won't. Insecure bosses don't like having smart people under them; they might get some credit for something, which takes away from the glory that he himself deserves (in his mind.) Actually, he does have people like Dr. Fauci, but you can see how far Trump has pushed him out of the spotlight.
