TrueLife reflectivity solution???

I pulled the trigger on a Vostro 1700 deal a couple days ago with mixed feelings about the truelife screen. At 1920x1200, it's the only option unless you go with a dell precision model. Which means you can get a WUXGA without truelife, just not with a Vostro. I wonder what they're thinking, that we'll gladly fork over another thousand to get a standard ultra sharp (and the option for a 17" with XP Pro, as it turns out). I've turned up a privacy screen with glossy/matte sides to it from 3M, which may solve my dilemma, but I'm open for more suggestions for knocking down the mirror quality of truelife. Any other manufacturer I've found with similar specs cost at least 30% more. Ideas???
