TrueCrypt - standard vs hidden password strength

TrueCrypt Question:

If I set a very weak password for the standard volume, will that compromise the security or effectiveness of a hidden volume with a very strong password?

example:

standard volume password: 123456
hidden volume password: strong 20-digit password


Since the hidden volume is created within the standard volume, it makes me wonder if they are linked in anyway. Thoughts?

I would think not, since the standard password is one that you could provide if you were forced to.
