How badly would Truecrypt effect gaming performance on my system? My specs are in my sig (the processor is essentially a Phenom II)

For the most part I've found truecrypt to add almost undetectable cpu overhead. So I don't think it will hurt performance in any user noticeable fashion.

I also haven't seen any issues with gaming performance.

Hate to say it, but I would think that you could avoid most of the TC overhead (such that it is) by putting the game files on another partition.

Try running its benchmark to see what potential effect, if any, there may be.

AES acceleration is a nice feature to have. As an example, mean speed can increase from 267 to 1536 MB/s.
