true power 380, how hot?

I'm not sure if this is a defective unit or not.. but how hot does your 380 get? is it warm, or hot enough that you actually jolt back a bit....

My true power 330 is warm, and the air out the back is warm. And my friend's 430 is the same.

Sounds defective to me.,

rma time...

all the antec psus that ive had have exhausted air that was a little warm, but the body itself was never hot to the touch...

no, all truepowers run hot. antec builds them so that they withstand high heat, which means less need for cooling, which means less noise.

i dont think that they were built to be hot to the touch though... in the OP, lnguyen said that the body was "hot enough that you actually jolt back a bit..." That's definitely not normal and warrants a RMA...

Jolting back is too hot. My Enermax's always put out warm air even when turned up the highest fan speeds. Funny thing is, my Thermaltake 480 never puts out warm air, even when I have the exhaust fan at less than 8 volts (almost inaudible).

Either way, warm air is fine, hot to the touch is not. To be sure give Antec a call or email and ask them

YOu should be able to put your cheek against the fan and get a good warming sensation. it shouldn't be painful cuz of heat.

is your system working fine? if it is, then i doubt anything is wrong. are both fans working?
ask antec to be sure, lets see what they say.
