True P2P rocks

Drexel capped KaZaa/other file sharing programs, so being the technology-oriented school we are, someone decided to set up a direct connect, drexel-based P2P server. Man, this is freakin awesome. I'm downloading at like 10 megabytes/sec from these guys, only 30 people are signed on, as it just went up last night, and already there is 635GB of files.

The funny part is, someone sent out an anonymous email telling people about this, masking their email as Papdakis, the school president....its funny, I see this email in my mailbox from this proper old greek guy, with a subject of "KaZaa sucks ass!"

Sweet... There used to be a utility that you run and it would search every computer on the network for shared files. Then it would index them all. Pretty sweet though!

I think that program was called Xscan or Xsharez... I used it for a while on my school network here. Very sweet program

Here at my school the internal server is up to 18 terabytes shared on a daily basis.

sweet, we will get up there, its over 1TB already, and just went up last night.
