I still don't understand how a city of 700,000 people is going to support an NHL franchise.

Raleigh is ~500k, and the Hurricanes do mighty well.

Granted, the Triangle area is close to 1 million, but when you consider that this is not hockey country...

Although it's momentarily exciting, we're too cheap here in Winnipeg - I highly doubt the team will last this time either.

Anyway, once the Phoenix situation was 'fixed', they moved onto Atlanta.

Atlanta doesn't care. The minor league team in Gwinnett is a better experience all around.

I think this is great. Hopefully the city this time can support the team. Now all we need is, is to have Teemu retire a Jet :). They better keep the name.

I was at their last game, there was just as many pens fans there as thrasher fans, if not more. I kinda felt bad for them.
