I am thinking about DVD DL for image 3 hard drives cuz DL has about 8.4GB and very expensive to buy.

I am not good with DVD -/+, R, W, and RW what they mean? I know about CD I used CDRW for back up and image but it is not enough space than DVD.

Your help is greatly apprecite :)

I'd just go with DVD+R or DVD-R media for the image backup. DVD-R and DVD+R are the most compatible formats and most widely used at this point. -R and +R are obviously, good for a single write, but -RW and +RW are the rewritable formats of the same size.

Also, remember the 4.7gb listed on the media is a marketing gimmic. That's 4.7gigaBITS and translates into 4.37gigaBYTES of space (roughly 4475megaBYTES).

While DL media burners are widely available today, the cost of DL media isn't low enough for me to use it in place of single layer discs.

I don't use any optical media. With TI, I use a duplicate HDD - the CLONE function. Much more efficient than backup to optical, because there is no restoration needed. Simply switch drives.

thanks for reply. Why do I need NAS if I have DVD drive?

I think it is time for me to clean install my XP Pro cuz I did not back up last time (I did back up with w2k Pro).
