True happiness = inner happiness. External factors != happiness

External factors = enjoyment, not happiness

ie:
Xbox, internet, new gadget, gf/wife/kids, winning lotto, etc

Once you remove those external factors (ie: alone on deserted island), are you truly happy?

Christopher Reeves said 2 years after he became a paraplegic, he felt the same way as before the accident, which is happy.

Have you found inner happiness?

If so, HOW?

Happiness is a combo of internal and external factors.

It could be argued if you take away the external most people wouldn't be happy, however the human brain is well suited to adjustment, and even on a deserted island people would find something external to fixate and find happiness from. Those who are unable to find some external, those who cant focus on their internal happiness etc.....would be the ones to wallow away and die/commit suicide on said deserted island. (tho i'l just touching the tip of the iceberg on that one)

Personally I'm happy, internally and externally. I know because I can travel up north where I'm lucky to get one or two TV stations, no cell phone signal most days and head out into the woods for hours on end and not feel any want or urge to find some external happiness like video games, my car, etc.

Alot of that stems from just living for the day and letting things that are unimportant to me and my life just slide on past. Most things in life dont even matter the next day.
