Seeing it next week.

Before this, I've never watched a Coen Bros movie in a theater. So it's partially my fault that the Bros' movies most often don't do very well theatrically. Maybe you should watch this one and help them have a good opening weekend for once.

I'm glad I saw this first on the giant screen. While it wasn't perfect, it's the best theater experience I've had this year.

Seen so far:

Very Good
True Grit (2010)

Good
Toy Story 3 (3D)
The Social Network

OK (over-rated)
Inception

I CAN'T BELIEVE I SAT THROUGH THIS
The Last Airbender (3D)
Edge of Darkness

Wish I'd Seen in Theaters
Robin Hood (2010)

Probably Going to See
Tron Legacy

Saw it last week (prerelease). Liked it; both Jeff Bridges and Matt Damon did a great job with the dialogue, and the little girl was excellent. Enjoyable movie worth seeing.

I can't believe the 14-year-old girl was played by a 13-year old actress. Though the fast / witty responses are not very believable for a 14-year-old, it was apparently done that way in the book.

I couldn't believe she was that young when I saw her pic
btw the movie is getting very good reviews.

While Kim Darby played the part well in the earlier adaptation, I thought she looked too old for the part.

I saw this last week and was not impressed. Granted I saw the original with John Wayne the prior and was obviously mentally comparing the two movies. Nothing can compare with the Duke. His antics, mannerisms and speech made him who he is. The best cowboy bar none. The 14 year old actress was not believable, Rooster was not believale and overall, the movie sucked. Don't waste your money.

Maybe he's the best cowboy when the character is made for him, but is he the best Rooster Cogburn? I think not.

The 14 year old actress was not believable,
It's not a very believable premise and the dialog is just like the book. I can't fault the girl, though. I was impressed.

Rooster was not believale
Lies. He was the most believable character (except for his shooting ability).

and overall, the movie sucked. Don't waste your money.
Rex? Is that you?

The Duke is a great icon...that doesn't necessarily make him a great actor. Jeff Bridges is definitely more versatile and believable.

I love westerns and Jeff Bridges is great, will have to see this.

Does he channel the dude at all?

Rooster T Cogburn abides
