Truck's AC

Ok, I have an '06 Dodge Cummins turbo diesel and the AC has started to not work very well. A month or so ago it would freeze you out and now it doesn't blow much air at all. What little air it does blow it is cold though. Any ideas?

Hate to hit the obvious, but does it have a cabin air filter?

Earlier in the Summer, mine was really clogged, I just pulled it out and put it in the trash can...problem solved. 🙂

So the air is cold and you just have low airflow? If so, is your blower running on the higher speeds?

And yeah, I guess the cabin air filter could be the culprit, if you have one. If it has one, it's going to be on the passenger side of the engine compartment, probably under the cowl panel. There's likely a little access door there somewhere, but some cars require removal of the wipers and cowl panel to get at the filter. (like the new Mustangs)

Basically it's a filter for the intake of the heat/air system. It would have to be seriously stopped up to stop the flow....and now that I'm thinking about it, here's the way to prove it:
Crank the blower up in high. Then change the A/C to Max or Recirc, whichever one it has. That will make it draw air from inside the truck, bypassing the filter. If your flow picks up significantly, you probably have a stopped up filter.
If not, you might have a blower motor that isn't running on the higher speeds.
