Truck tool boxes/chests - any good portable ones?

I just got a 2000 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab (pic in sig) since I needed some pickup functionality, but still need 4 doors for hauling our future kids. Since the Frontier's already a compact truck and since it's a Crew Cab that means the bed is even shorter than a regular Frontier, but that's fine since it still suits our needs 90+% of the time.

However, I'd like to have some sort of tool box/chest in the back to store stuff in that I don't want to keep in the cab, but I don't want to lose much bed space. Most of the regular, fixed-position tool boxes are just too big and would take up too much space. So I've thought a somewhat smaller chest version might be a good compromise. That way I could take it out and put it in the back seat whenever I need the extra hauling room. Of course I'd need to make sure it was somehow safely secured when it's in the truck bed. I've seen some metal tool chests, but I was actually kind of thinking a heavy-duty plastic one (something along the lines of this Rubbermaid toolbox) might be easier to move about. Does anybody else have something similar or know of a good place to look for something like I'm describing?

I had a full size husky toolbox that mounted to the bed rails. It was bolted in, and screrwed into welded captured nuts for relitively easy removal. Probably a little too large for you though.

Plastic and toolboxes to not really mix. Plastic cracks when you drop it in the cold which is bad. I would stick to metal. They make smaller ones that you can store and bolt down. Bolts or screws are the only real way to make sure that box is not moving. You do not want to get in an accident and get it throught he back window.
