Truck go fast

0-60 in 10 seconds and something in the background that sounds like linkin park having a bitch fight with our lady peace.

you can put a supercharger on a tacoma and get it to run 11 second quarter miles. I've driven one, so fassstt!

my stock 3.9l v6 dakota seems to be able to match that, for the most part.. except when it gets to around 80-90... acceleration dies then, slowly increases... turning off overdrive improves acceleration at that point but not by much

So was I..was thinking (er..hoping, anyway) it was turbo at first..but when you consider it's a n/a 2.4l, that explains a lot.. 😉

It doesn't look much faster (if any) than my stock V6..but not bad for the little engine. 🙂

Here's one that runs an 11.7 @ 124mph - a 4x4 x-cab, no less. :Q

an F350 diesel is slightly different than a turbo'ed tacoma though 🙂

The OP's video was a Tacoma with a 2.4l 4banger.. 😕

I put a few thousand miles on an F350 turbodiesel - I'm slightly familiar with them. 😉 Though this one was definitely not an 11-sec truck..

We're also talking 3.4l vs 7.3l. F350 is heavier..blah blah..I know. 😛 Though I did find it impressive that the Taco is running a completely stock drivetrain (minus clutch and LSD) and stock internals, minus pistons/rods..

Diesels are quite impressive..I've heard rumors that the next Tundra may come with a diesel option - perhaps I should start saving.

the diesels are amazing as to what they can handle in upgrades. I mean a banks power package off the shelf will give you 700+ hp. and that 's not even anythign terribly exotic!

Not amazingly fast, but not bad considering it's an N/A 2.4l. My truck is probably just a bit slower than that though. Mitsubishi Might Max with a 2.4l 4banger, and 5 speed. I'd probably shift faster than that fool too, because I woulnd't be trying to film my stupid speedometer like a jackass to show off on the net.

Is it just me or in the OP's video, was the guy just horrible at shifting. I drive a V6 truck so im sure it has a different RPM range, but it sounded like the guy shifted after like 4,000 RPM or something. Let the thing rev a little!!

I should try to take a video of my '92 Toyota Pickup accelerating. Does good until 4th and 5th gear where all acceleration is gone. 152HP V6!! Inline 4's put out more power than my car B) ... OH YEAH!
