Out of sheer curiosity, is anyone else here really picky when it comes to trucks and there aesthetics?

I don't know why but for some reason any truck I look has to look good from my stand point; even if that specific truck isn't very good for hauling, towing, or is just known to have mechanical problems. For ease lets just go with 1988 or newer sames anything before then is before my time.

Just some examples:
Silverado/Sierra: I cannot stand anything after 1999 or before 1988. (So, only between 1988 and 1998 I like)
F-150: I only like 2004 or newer (minor exception: 1999-2004 Lightning SVT vehicles)
Ram: 2002 or newer is the only ones I like; it's strange because they all looked the same to me in previous years; but at this point they actually tried to make slight changes.
Dakota, Ranger, Colorado, Tundra, Titan, and Other's I'm forgetting: Don't like any of them; can't explain it either.
S10/Sonoma: 1998 until 2004 (when they discontinued) I've enjoyed.

Is it just me or do I just have odd taste in trucks?

I don't like trucks if they don't look functional. I like the current GM trucks because they have a clean military futuristic look.

i am also a fan of newer GM trucks. i never really liked the rounded fords. my favorite is the mid 90s suburbans and pickups though, very clean looking.

Functionally a Ridgeline would be my best option for what I do
Aestetically I hate the side profile

I agree. After that generation they made them rounded and blobby, later added edgy headlights, but now they're back to clean.

I don't like the new F150s either. The 97-03 and 04-08 are the best looking of the F-series to me.

Silverados are OK, but not as good as the mid-late 90s models. Also, they're Chevys.

Never cared for any of the styles of the foreign trucks.
Don't much care for any of Dodge's styles, either.

I think it's the most hideous truck I've ever seen. My father-in-law bought one though and damn if it ain't a nice ride. More interior room than my 04 Tacoma doublecab and a more powerful motor. It's quiet and pretty much rides like a car. I don't really like the bed that much, but I do like the dual folding tailgate. My next truck will be a fullsize F150 or Silverado if their still around in 6 years (figure my truck will last 10 years). I can't stand the looks of any model year Ram and not a big fan of Nissan in general. I might buy a Tundra, but they ask for too much money for them when you can get a Ford or Chevy that's just as good if not better for less.

Trucks became ugly around 1959. Before that, they were much better.

The SVT Lightning is not particularly practical as a truck, and shouldn't be on this list at all. If you do feel it counts as a truck, please add to my list the current Holden Ute, which is basically a modern El Camino with a corvette engine.

Tundras have nasty reliability problems, or so I'm told. I'm personally leaning towards Ford, but this is only because everyone I know has one with the exception of my neighbor, whose Chevy truck lit itself on fire under the dashboard.

i personally think fords have always been at the top in looks department followed closely with dodge. i very much dislike the current toyota and chevy trucks. they just look like they swelled up and are ready to pop.
