Tru Calling

Anyone catch the season finale ? The entire season I thought the premise was simple-minded and dull - since every single episode the same thing basically happens... someone dies... someone wakes from the dead to ask for her help... and she helps them by re-living the day.

What a curveball the finale brought huh ? Done in true M.Night Shylaman style. As a matter of fact... I think the writer of Tru Calling took pages out of Sixth Sense (help the dead) and Unbreakable (there's always a good and a bad trying to stop the good). By curveball... I was shocked at first (about the dad)... but now I think it's all a crock. No original material...

Let's just say, I really don't watch it for the plot... 😀

what was the finale?? 🙂
We learn Jason Priestley plays her opposite. His job is to ensure that the person actually dies, so as to not alter fate. When Tru's brother is killed, she helped him live again, but Priestley's character warns that another must die that day to take his place. It turns out that it's her ex-bf who she was planning on getting back together with. The ending was that the ex-bf really dies (which is sad since they really built up his character)... and Priestley gets in a car with Tru's dad.

In previous eps, we learned Tru lost her mom when she was younger and she got this helping trait from her. Well now they reveal the surprise... that the dad was mom's opposite... he killed his own wife to prevent her from saving people (much like Tru is doing now). Daddy dearest wants Priestley to stop Tru. She has no idea daddy is involved in any of this. Onto season 2...

Tell me you don't see plagurized ideas from all this...

I watched the pilot but can't say that the show grabbed my interest enough to get me to watch more. Finale sounded interesting as you described. It will be interesting to see if they pick it up for another season or not.

I watched the finale, was pretty good quite a twist though from the way the rest of the season was as you said. I'll wait till next season and see how he does to make any more of a judgment😀

the finale was the first episode I actually watched. And yeah, I did think it was a neat twist. But can they keep it up in the next season?
