At least McFadden came in 2nd...can't really say I was surprised that Troy Smith won it. As much as I wanted McFadden to win it, Smith deserved it.

Totally deserved. The only thing that would have made the race interesting is if Peterson would have stayed healthy all year.

With Quinn, you need a good line. With Troy you can do with a mediocre line. Sure, Quinn takes a beating and gets back up, but that only lasts so long. Ask Joe Theisman. Interesting... both Domers, hehe.

Next year is McFadden's year. He'll be gone to the pros after his junior season.

So how in the world did Quinn win the Maxwell if he could do no better than third in the Heisman?

Maybe he'll join other great former recent Heisman QB winners like Eric Crouch, Jason White, and Chris Weinke.

How soon we forget Gino Toretta, Danny Wueffel and Andre Ware!

In the last twenty years, there have been a grand total of three players that were not QB's or RB's that have won the Heisman.

Name em! And don't cheat!

 I don't recall any of Tedford's players winning the Heisman. In fact I can only recall one guy in the NFL that played for Tedford at Cal, and that's Aaron Rodgers, who is Brett Favre's backup.

This really should read "USC Heisman winner" since pretty much all of them have come from USC (other than Plunkett).

What about Terry Baker? He'd probably be the least successful, but he still did play for the Rams for 3 years.

You are talking about someone from 45 years ago that no one here has heard of. :D
