Troy Smith just wasn't ready...

FOR SEC DEFENSE BABY!!! Brady Quinn and Troy Smith just found out what playing in the SEC is all about.

It's just what great defenses do. I can do nothing but laugh. Great numbers Mr. Heisman 😀

<sarcasm> Yea, has nothing to do with 51 days off, missing his best receiver, bad offensive line play, and inept coaches who forgot how to run the ball. </sarcasm>

((Not that Troy doesn't deserve some blame, but Florida doesn't get all the credit when Tressel clearly forgot his brain in Ohio))

I dunno, I'd credit Florida's defense with most of the disruption. But that's just me.

And didn't Florida have something like a month off as well? Not as long as Ohio State, but it's not like UF just came off a bye-week or something. All in all, Florida just looked like the MUCH better team, and I hate Florida.

A Heisman winner should be able to do SOMETHING against a defense that got no credit the whole year. He was unable to do ******!

Heisman means nothing, it rarely goes to the best player in the country, only to the QB that puts up the best stats these days... and I'm an OSU alum. No one cares about the defense or grunts on the line, even when they deserved a Heisman (Hello Orlando Pace)

And so the excuses start...

Florida did exactly what OSU should have done, pressure the QB and get him rattled. Leak has flaws but you can't give him time to pick a team apart. He needs to be hit and it takes him out of his rhythm. I really question how much film OSU watched on UF because that's how all the SEC teams play Leak.

About the 51 days off bit.. Florida had 37 days off before the game as well. I do not think that 2 weeks makes a difference, this game came down to which coach had his team ready for the game. Urban won that battle.

I do not think Florida has the best talent in the SEC, I give that to LSU. Florida is the best coached team in the SEC though.

This reminds me of a scene from Friday's:

OSU is lying on its back and see L. Corso looking down over them saying, Man, you got knocked the F* out!!!!!

Like we need another thread.........and wow Troy Smith lost a game big deal. Hes still way better than Chris Leak.

Shouldn't you be masturbating to a picture of Spurrier or maybe even Meyer now?

You're just mad your team got pwn3d like a fat girl in Dodgeball.

I don't think either QB will have success in the NFL as QBs. The Gheytors had too much speed on the d-line for Smith.

Actually, my team beat FU during the regular season. I'm a fan of OSU because I grew up in Ohio. My alma mater is Auburn.

Edit: I'm an Auburn fan first, Ohio State fan second. If AU played OSU, I would root for AU.

The Heisman always goes to the single player that an overrated team is built around. You can build a team around an average player or even a bad player. But as soon as you build a team around that player, you get a ton of stats for him. Just about every Heisman winning team does much worse after the Heisman (in their bowl and in the next year) because they were overrated. Thus, the Heisman has meaning, it means overrated.

Two weeks is a big deal. Florida had 2 difficult games in the time that OSU was on the sidelines. You just can't keep a whole team mentally and physically focussed on just one goal for more than 7 weeks straight. Teams always play poorly after a long break, and this is the longest in history, beating the old record by about a week.

The whole time off thing needs to be addressed. A playoff during those 51 days would fit just fine without any significant disruption to the player's lives (it isn't like they'll be spending any more time practicing with a playoff).

Heh, you'd think so.

I would like to thank Florida for giving Auburn the opportunity to win the $100k in scholarship money.

No need to talk about sarcasm... Overrated conferences usually get what's coming.

BTW thank you USC.

Overrated conferences? Last time I checked half the SEC was a doormat: with powerhouses like Mississippi, Mississippi State, 'Bama, Vanderbilt, South Carolina, & Kentucky, I'm not sure how you can dismiss an entire conference as overrated.

And how did the Vols & Razorbacks fare against Penn State & Wisconsin?

Let's not forget the SEC's proud tradition of having NCAA sanctions slapped on their football teams, haha.

that they totally didn't deserve. maybe it was season-changing for auburn, but it didn't affect anything in the "big picture." the oregon state play was the only real deserving one, but then again they've never really cared that the highlight is called the "game changing performance of the year" -- see last year's winner Alabama.

And how did the Oregon St play change anything? If USC had beaten UCLA they would still have played for the NC. No big-picture change there.
