So...I am just going to throw something out there.
I have this setup:
p4c 2.8
Intel 865perl mobo
512x2 Corsair XMS 3200 ram
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro
Raidmax 420 watt PSU
I noticed the way ibuypower set up my rig, and off one cord from the power supply I have hooked up to it this combo: 1 hard drive, my vid card, 3 case fans, and 2 optical drives. My question is, if my power supply is not up to the task of powering all these at once, from one cable, and when my vid card is under "stress" (read: gaming), then could graphic performance dip because of this? I am not sure about computer power supplies, should I be concerned about this? Or is this normal with modern pcs?
Just trying to troubleshoot my (in my eyes) poor 9800 pro performance, any help is greatly appreciated.
I have restalled, updated, cleaned out the case, checked temps, and everything that you can read off the internet as your typical performance tips. Thanks for the help in advance.
let me describe what I see during games, no matter if I set the game at 100% "performance" OR 100%
"quality" settings.
Let's say I am looking at a desk. The graphic quality is good, but if I shake my mouse up a down I can see 1/2 the desk edge move and the other half move maybe a second later. I know this is not right, and in narrowing things down, do you think I have too many things "daisy chained" together in my PSU. Or any other suggestions is great.
