Troubleshooting slow 1ghz tbird/GF2... lend a hand!

Ok, got my 1ghz KT7-Raid/1ghz tbird last night and got it setup and running (pretty easy too!). Of course first thing I do is run some Q3 timedemos. Whoa. 122 fps at 640x480x16? 67 fps at 1024x768x32? Somethings not right here as I should be hitting about 150 fps/76 fps (at least!)

So, I'm looking at suggestions for areas to look into.

Some info off the bat...

1) I did a clean install of 98SE, then the High point HT370 raid drivers, then the Via AGP 403D driver (in turbo mode) and the Via IRQ sharing driver.

2) I have my sound card in PCI slot 2 and a NIC card in PCI 6.

3) My video drivers are the standard Creative Labs GF2 drivers (I believe 5.14). I realize the Det3 drivers offer better performance, but I'd I'm below where I should be with these drivers and I'd like to eliminate the problem before I install the latest.

I dont *appear* to have any irq conflicts (that I can see anyways). I do have ACPI installed/active (cant turn it off in the motherboard bios, didnt know how to get 98SE to install without it (unfortunately?).

Any leads/suggestions/thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Those numbers are not all that bad, reasonable if you are running with all settings maxed or you are using A3D.

Just install Detonator3s for a 10-15% increase in framerates, there's no point in fixing problems with the detonator2s if you installed everything else correctly and its just a vid driver problem.
