Troubleshooting my computer..

My Computer:
Mobo: ASUS p4p800se
Processor: p4 prescott
Ram: 4chips - total 1.5gb 3200 dual channel (I dont know much about RAM)
video: ATI Radeon 9800
OS: Windows XP pro
2 SATA harddrives
1 Optowrite DVD-RW
1 liteon DVD reader

My Problem:
I've been having problems with my DVD drives. I can burn DVD's fine, but if I put a CD in either drive, the drives will not read the CD..

For example,
Last night I wanted to install starcraft, so I unhooked the DVD-reader drive (it has never really worked). I put the DVD-RW drive as IDE primary master. I put the Cd in the DVD-rw drive, and XP shows the starcraft CD in the drive but will not autoplay it. After about 10 min of the CD being in the drive, the autoplay finally showed up.

Things I notice:
1) My SATA drives get SUPER hot... I took one side of my case off to help the temperature... before the side of the case was off, the temperater was at 103 - 105f now it is at about 93-95f.

2) The lights on the front of my case are dim, and one is not even on anymore

3) When I hook up both DVD drives, sometimes one of them won't open.

I'm thinking this could be a power supply issue.. I'm sure my power supply is super cheap because it came with the case, but I am not 100% sure this is the only issue here?

Anyway, I was looking on newegg for a new power supply and here is one I was looking at.. tell me if it is crap or not. Please explain why if it is crap.

BAM

dude, you're right, Power Supply problem.
As to whether or not the aspire PS is any good or not I don't know, typically you get what you pay for w/ Power Supplies. Antec, Thermaltake & Coolermaster are the ones that I personally trust.

** EDIT **
Tell us what's in it right now.....there should be a brand name & wattage specification on the side of the PS

Yep, that's an accurate assessment. The PSU's bundled with cases are generally crap. Unless it's an Antec, in which case it's often crap, or a Supermicro or PCP&C, but you need monopoly money for those.

I would go out and get a nice Enermax, OCZ, Tagan, Forton, etc. PCP&C is the Rolls-Royce of PSU's, if you can afford it. Antec's quality control has taken a dive recently, might wish to avoid them for that reason. There's plenty of threads here about which are the best PSU's.
