Troubleshooting: game stopped working after BIOS update

I been playing Star Wolves 3 and then updated my BIOS and drivers. Afterwards the game loads past the splash screens but crashes before the menu. Just generic windows error. What should I look into? Running Vista 64.

Guess that's the next thing. Tried different compatibility modes and now I'm trying a reinstall. I had gotten the latest GForce drivers.

I usually avoid updating drivers unless I have a problem, or in the case of gfx, if it's reported to give much better fps on a game. There's not much to gain otherwise.

Good advice, especially with video drivers and BIOS updates. If it aint broke dont fix it. I think i've genuinely *had* to update a motherboard BIOS once ever due to an issue. And video drivers almost universally have a "this is what we fixed, ... and this is what we broke" list in the release notes.
