Troubleshooting: "Base 64K RAM Failure"?

When I built my PC out-of-case, everything ran well except there was no display on the monitor, and the speaker continually gives a series of 3 beeps. I looked the beep code up, and it says my problem is a "Base 64K Ram Failure." I tried using my 2 sticks of Crucial RAM on every slot, by themselves, and with each other. Still three beeps. Any ideas?
Could it be a mobo problem?

Welcome to the forum. Providing a list of your computer hardware, when posting a request for help, allows members to give you much better feedback. First, try clearing the CMOS by disconnecting the PSU powercord from the wall outlet, holding down the case power button for 15 seconds, then remove the CMOS battery for 3 minutes, or jumper the clear CMOS pins.

Reinstall the battery, or remove the jumper, and test with just one stick of RAM. It's very important that you use the procedure of disconnecting the PSU and then discharging any residual voltage every time you're uninstalling/reinstalling any hardware on the mobo.

I am having the exact same problem with nearly the same components.

CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor (Purchased For $117.98)
Motherboard: ASRock 990FX Extreme3 ATX AM3+/AM3 Motherboard (Purchased For $119.99)
Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory (Purchased For $0.00)

I get three beeps with the ballistix sport however with my old patriot 1333 memory there are no problems. I'll continue to figure out what's up. Possible the memory is defective and that's why they are giving it away.

Hmm, that sounds like the L1 cache...

More likely bad RAM or bad mobo.
