Troubleshootin an Inspiron 5000

Won't power up!

The AC Adapter light comes on and the middle light below the screen blinks, but nothin else.

where to start?

It's a Dell Inspiron 5000

Ok, i'm thinkin the mobo is fubar, this thing has 3 serious cracks on the bottom of it
