Well, i'm a second year networking student and I would have to say that my router is screwed. This is a new one (from June of last year) to replace a lightning-fried one. It occaisonally drops us from the router...meaning it says 'Cable unplugged' and when you check the status lights, they blink off and back on in about a second. Now this week, it has gone down to the diagnostic LED light (as if I was rebooting it or something) and won't come back until I unplug the power and plug it back in again. Would you say that it is a hardware issue? I was thinking I could call linksys, but if there is a better router out there I will get that instead.
If I was to buy a new router from Best Buy or Newegg (some things I just simply like to get in stores), which one would you recommend? Surely there must be a router more highly thought-of out there...there always is
Bear in mind i'm not planning on buying some $500 SonicWall router...just one to share a cablemodem amongst 2-4 computers in a house.
