Troubles with DVD Rom slave drive

I just installed a Dvd rom drive as the slave. It works fine and all. But when I start up my computer it doesn't start up properly. The screen is always telling me that something is wrong. Probably a new hardware installation. So I have to select "Start windows normally" It's annoying to deal with all the time. Any help would be great. Thanks.

What screen is always telling you something is wrong??? what exactly is it telling you>>
