I made a switch from my old GF4600 to 6800LE some month ago.
After this I have never been able to run anything based on the HL2 engine.
(First CS-Source, then Vampire Masquerade and Half-Life2)
Usually I have the pipes unlocked but i've noticed that it doesnt change anything in stability issues.

The game runs for a minute or so and then freezes, well not a complete freeze but a rather o,05fps or somethin where all sounds starts to repeat itself in very short pieces.
Sometimes this wears off in 10-15 sec and comes back again in less than a minute.
If i at this point am able to get to the menus and quit the game im lucky, otherwise i get bluescreened.

I have tried several drivers and they vary slightly, but still the problem is overwhelming making the games unplayable.

I don't have any of these issues in other games but I do find stability issues running 3dmark05, where i cant get passed the first bench before i get blue screened.
I don't think these problems are very related but i just wanted to mention it anyway.

Maybe theres simply no cure for this problem except to re-install my system, but i wanted to post this and see if someone has any ideas.

btw my specs are

Asus a7m266d
Dual amd2000+ (thoroughbred or whoever it was spelled)
1gb of some samsung memory if i remember correctly
Winfast 6800LE (tried several drivers ranging from 66..to 67.20)
DirectX 9.0c (ofcourse!)
