I'm at a loss here.
1.2gHz TBird, 266FSB, AXIA marked, week 7 CPU.
Asus A7V133 running @1400mHz, 10.5x134. Running BIOS 1004.
FOP38 HSF, (damn loud fan). Artic Silver II applied.
87°F Case temp, 122°F taken from the on board CPU temp.
(31°C Case temp, 49°C taken from the on board CPU temp.
This is while (relatively) idle. It peaks at about 54°C under a load of seti@home/3D Mark 2001

Temps are being reported by Motherboard Monitor.
MBM also reports 1.82V on the core (it's set to 1.75 in the BIOS, IIRC, the volts just seem to run a touch high on this board -the 3.3V reports 3.58

The BIOS reports 1-2 degreees lower, but I've been chalking it up to cooling while shutting down to get to the BIOS.

In addition to the HSF on the CPU, there is the (standard) one on the P/S, a larger one pulling air in at the cases front, and two smaller ones (from an old PII HSF) pushing out the back too.
Cooling shouldn't be a problem here! Ambient seem high to me compared to others, but I'm getting nervous with these temps. What am I missing?

(As much as I hated to start another "Too High" temp thread, I'm looking at some record temps, so I figured I better find some help, and soon!)

those temps are fine ....

my 1.2GHZ@1.4 9.5 x 148 1.85v are running from the bios around 52-54c idle and 58-59C under load...with AlphaPAL 6035 and Sunon fan with silicone grease...

If it is stable you are fine..

BTW the AXIA many run as fast as 1500 give it a push run it at 1.85 v and try for 1500

Lower,

Your temps are fine. A7V Class MB's "read" higher temps than other mb's. That is nothing to worry about, as your temps are still within reasonable a7v limits.

Secondly, the on-board cpu sensor doesn't even really measure cpu temp. It measures socket-air temp. Asus compensates this reading up in an effort to give a better "reading" result in comparison to cpu core temp.

Thirdly, your 31C case temp may be a bit high, compared to your room temp... what is your room temp?
