I just installed this new AGP XFX 6600 GT and can't play COD without locking up. I have tried different drivers 66.XX and 71.XX but to no avail. The last thing I tried was reformaing the hard drive and reinstalled WinXP but that didn't fix the problem. Any ideas????

check your temps. what are idle and load?

edit: this is the last straw. I here by declare the majority of XFX 6600GT's bad products.

Maybe I'm a minority, but my AGP XFX 6600GT works fine.

Edit: If you recently purchased it and you just can't make it work, RMA that sucker.

I might have found my problem--- a read somewhere today to make sure that the power supply connecter cable was only attached to the 6600 GT. So I rearrange the power cables and it has not locked up YET.

my 66.93 driver comes with the temp monitor in the software, where you rightclick desktop>properties>settings>advanced>then the video card tab. i dunno if this is just for my kind of card/brand. but w/e. and for dave. did you oc it? mine locks up when i clock too high when playing a video game.

wafflesandsyrup was right on.

My temps are running at about 60degrees C. WOW that seems a little high but I have never paid attention to Vid. card temps....
