Hi,

I have this D-Link wireless adapter pcmcia card for my laptop which worked fine before.

Now, after I reinstalled the drivers, the card don't work. I installed all the drivers again after I uninstalled it, plug the card in, and not even the power light goes on, and winXP tells me something is wrong with my drivers.

I try the card on a different laptop, it works fine...

What is wrong ?

Does the failing laptop work with any other PCMCIA cards? If no cards work, then your pcmcia slot drivers are hosed and need to be reinstalled. Assuming other PCMICA cards do work, try uninstalling any old drivers for it, reboot without the card in it. Then reboot and come up all the way, then put the card in, you should then be prompted for the driver...

It can be hard to weed some drivers out of the system, but it always can be done, sometimes only manually...

thanks for the help. Are you saying to uninstall the pcmcia drivers or the adapter drivers ?

The pcmcia slot works with other cards.
