Trouble with video card, i think?!!?

WHen i try to play Shogun : total war the screen just flashes black and goes right back to windows. I cant even get into the game to try and change video settings. Also my computer sometimes gets stuck when loading things (for example, loading Halflife or installing a game), the load light will just flicker forever.

If you have any idea of what might be wrong any help would be nice

i have a P3 677
Riva Nvidia TNT2- M64 (latest drivers)
Direct X 8
MSI mainboard with 4-1 via drivers
128m ram

i think that is open gl goodness. check for other video card issues, check for game updates ... check for win2000 compatibility updates if you are running win2000.

I had a similar problem with rogue spear, but after I updated the 4in1 via drivers all went well...

Im running windows 98 and ive tried updating shogun. Ive updated everything i can.
Shogun used to work fine, but after i formatted it stopped working
