I just finished jailbreaking my phone and downloaded the swirly app. What to I put in the settings? It gave me a couple different choices, I selelcted one and now when I try to send an MMS it doesn't work.

What do I need to chance in order for it to work? I have unlimited texting through AT&T and my iPhone is the 3g model.

EDIT:
I changed some of the settings and now when I try to send a message I get the following error-

Failed to send MMS possible incorrect mmsc setting. Unexpected http response (HTTP/1. 1 403 Forbidden)

Thanks

EDIT 2
For some reason now I can't send or receive SMS messages. This just started because earlier it was working fine and then stopped. Any ideas?

Use these settings:
MMSC: mmsc.cingular.com
Proxy: 066.209.011.032

See: http://iphonesinrtp.com/2007/1...orking-mms-iphone-app/

You need to request media net access for your account - AT&T doesn't enable MMS capability for the iPhone to send/receive MMS by default. You need to request it. There's no charge to do this though.

I missed the "Paging PM" bit. :) Made me smile when I saw it.

I think you can do it either way - although I'm on T-Mobile, so I'm a bit sketchy on the details here so I'll rely on Google instead.

I think the key is that iPhones on AT&T shouldn't be able to send MMS's. Going into the details of Jailbreaking and the rest with an AT&T CSR (customer service agent) is probably not a great idea, so instead say you use the iPhone SIM in other phones that can send MMS's (a little white lie) and want the capability added to your account.

The mention the issue here near the bottom:
http://www.appleiphoneapps.com...utter-real-iphone-mms/
AT&T users have seen problems with the iPhone not being able to connect to the MMS server. I called AT&T and told them that I sometimes use my SIM in my old RAZR, and would like to add the ?Media Net Per Use? plan to my phone. On a family plan this needs to be added to each line. This will not affect your unlimited data, and the per use feature has a $0.00 monthly fee. I currently have an unlimited messaging plan on my phone, and was told that the MMS messages I send from another phone will not have a charge.

Thanks again. :)

I also have unlimited messaging that's why I was confused when it wouldn't send, I'll let them know I plan to swap the SIM back and forth.

For the settings that's all I need to input right? I don't need to fill in the APN or username and password lines?

So I put those settings in and called cingular and I'm still getting the same error message.

Any idea what could be causing this?

I have no idea. On T-Mobile, I added the settings and then called T-Mo and requested MMS access, and everything worked.

Here's my thoughts, S Freud.

First, I think the SMS error is caused by mucking around with Swirly - and not the jailbreak. But I don't know. If you lose patience with this whole thing, you can always just firmware-restore over the jailbreak. :) I would think either AT&T has done something funky with your SMS/MMS account... or something in Swirly has redirected SMS's somewhere else that is being blocked.

Second, the error with you mention up at the top seems to be a issue with AT&T blocking, not incorrect settings. At least that seems to be the consensus in these two threads:

http://www.xsellize.com/showthread.php?t=25609
http://www.modmyi.com/forums/t...wirly-t-guide-fix.html

This thread seems to say that AT&T is now actively blocking MMS on iPhones:

I don't know S Freud. When I did all this on T-Mobile, it was fairly painless. I will say that HTTP response error does seem like a permissions thing. And I'm utterly perplexed about the SMS issue.

MMS is in iPhone 3.0. I recommend giving up, S Freud. :)

I wonder how AT&T will handle the rollout changes... will they just enable MMS on all iphone plans automatically, or will we have to call in and request it?

I appreciate all the help pm. I am just going to perform the restore and then jailbreak it again without downloading swirly. I hate having to wait till the summer but I don't see any other option. Hopefully this jailbreak goes ok because I enjoy the themes and other apps available.
