Trouble with the PNY rebates from BF2004

I got one of those infamous little "we couldn't process your rebate..." cards today. The card said I didn't send in the original UPC and that my rebate couldn't be processed without it. There's a few problems with this, first is the instructions never said I had to (seen here) and second, the original UPC is on the back of the actual graphics card with a nice little "Warranty Void If Removed" notice on it.

While I can't say I'm surprised to see this kind of complete idiocy, I would like to know if anyone else had a PNY rebate refused because of this same thing.

For those interested, my rebate was for the 5700LE and was only $10. I needed an inexpensive card and at the time this one seemed to fit the bill.

I've owned two of them, no problems, just weak warranty. (The purple PCB was cool :)

mail-in rebates should be outlawed. Either discount the item or don't. Mail-in rebates are a marketing and ripoff tool.

Thanks for the replies, guys. I called them up and they said I'd have to photo copy the original UPC off the card and snail mail that in. They already have the little proof of purchase from the box.

The only thing I can blame PNY about is outsourcing their rebate services to complete morons who can't follow directions.

It's the suckiness of rebates that I bought this particular card. It had $60 in IR and $10 in MIR, the other way around and I wouldn't have bought the thing.

And as for the card itself, for what it is, I'm satisfied with it. No complaints against PNY for the actual product.
