trouble with TB santa cruz, again!!!

i have this TBSC and i installed the drivers and i can not get it to play sound. when i did a sound test, it played like a beeeeeeep and then it put a check mark on the test, and then they dont work past that. i did the beeeep thing a few times and then it wont work after that. wtf?

can you give any more details as to your entire system specs and also what drivers you are using?

i downloaded the drivers from a website that said they were digitally signed for windows 2k xp etc.

p4 1.6a @ 2.32
gigabyte 8irxp
512mb pc2100 mushkin high perf pc2100
wd special edition 80gb
radeon 8500 128mb
40x12x48 lite-on
16x dvd lite-on
antec sx1030 420w
lotsa cooling fans....

thats about it i think...

i usually use onboard sound. could this be conflicting with it?

You need to uninstall the onboard sound drivers and then disable the onboard sound (AC97 audio) wherever you see it in the BIOS - sometimes it is listed more than once. Good luck!

What he said, uninstall onboard drivers and disable in bios, if you already did that, try another pci slot, I had problems with mine and that fixed them.

and good advice it proved to be. that was exactly the problem.
