Trouble with SATA

Hopefully someone can help me with this or point me in the right direction:

i have GigaByte GA-7N400-Pro with a 2500 barton. The board worked fine when using the older IDE drives. I tried to install the OS on two striped raid 80 gig seagates. The Windows install does not reconize any hard drives attached. It says to hit F3 and then restart - but at that point it is locked up.

The SATA Raid Utility (on the bios) can indentify the drives and configure them in a mirror or a striped array.

I have also tried boot off of one drive, the computer locks up after looking for a CD boot - I do not get a "no system" disk error.

Any suggestions?
