I've just installed Red Hat 6.1 to create a dual-boot system, Win98 is the other OS. After installing, I tried running startx, but I got this error message:
execve failed for /ect/X11/X (errno2)
_X11TransSocketUNIXConnect: Can't connect: errno = 111
giving up
xinit: Connection refused (errno: 111): unable to connect to X server
xinit: No such process (errno: 3) Server error.

I heard something about setup, so I ran xf86config and configured everything correctly, at least as far as I know. I tried it again, but got the same results. I checked in /etc and /etc/X11 for the xf86config file, but found none. What's wrong? Any help is appreciated, thank you.

Well the XF86Config file would reside in /etc/X11. Please notice the case. *NIX systems are case sensitive.
