trouble with new radeon driver for winxp

i just did a clean install of winxp and then tried the new radeon driver for winxp for my radeon 32 meg ddr, now i am experiencing artifacts on the screen occasionaly during games. i have not noticed them for anything else. anybody know what is causing this? thanx
