hey i just built a new computer for my brother last night. everything went smooth until i got into windows and tried to dl his video card drivers. the internet keeps disconnecting ever second or two and a bubble in the bottom right keeps saying a network cable is unplugged. i installed the chipset and ethernet drivers for the mobo twice because i thought that might be the problem but no luck. any ideas?

Try another PC. If okay, then you may have a hardware issue with the MB. Do you see a problem in Device Manager?

i tried on my other computer and the internet is working just fine. when i go into device manager there are no problems, it only tells me my video card drivers arent installed, could i have a faulty mobo?
i also notice that in the back of my computer where the ethernet cable is plugged in, whenever i lose my connection the light goes off

It sounds like there is a problem with the onboard ethernet controller, probably a loose solder or something. I would probably just RMA the mobo.

you think maybe i should call tech support for the mobo first? maybe they can troubleshoot with me or something? my brother would rather not RMA if he can fix it somehow
