I got a Kt7-Raid mobo with an Athlon 850 cpu from a user on the forums. He guaranteed 1050@1.775V. Now, the cpu does this, for a limited time. I'll eitheir lock the comp up (by running multiple programs) or if I lock win2k, i'll come back and it'll be frozen. I've tried upping the voltage to 1.8V, and tried running it at 850 @default and 1.750V. My question is, wtf am I doing wrong? Should I re-install the OS, or is it something to do with the cpu itself? There is an enormous Cooler Master hsf on the cpu, so I doubt that's the culprit. I'd appreciate any suggestions. Thanks guys and gals.

Check your temps for us--install MotherBoard Monitor 5. Get CPU usage to near 0% (idle), and check temperatures...then goto full load (run Prime95 or something else that loads the CPU), and check temps again. OR, take the readings in BIOS- just tell us what it says there.

CoolerMaster HSF's aren't very good...but they're supposed to be adequate. You may have installed it incorrectly...or it's not making "perfect" contact.

I would think it's a heat related problem...though I'm not 100% sure on that.
