Trouble with MSI Geforce 4400 card

Just got a new MSI Geforce 4400 card, loaded it in with the default MSI drivers and am having problems. I am getting green and pink little squares all over the screen and then my PC locks up. Looks like the anomalies you get when running a card overclocked too high, but it is running at default speed.
I wiped out the MSI drivers, loaded up Detonator 28.32's, but they wouldn't load properly. Wiped them out, went back to the MSI drivers. It seemed to be okay for a few hours, but then I started getting the ping and green blocks again, shortly followed by the system locking up. The graphics board is running at stock speed.

Here's my current setup:
Abit KG-7Raid
Athlon 1400 Mhz
Sound Blaster Audigy
IBM 60GXP 40Mbyte hard disk
512 Mbyte of Crucial DDR266 RAM
Direct X 8.1
Windows ME
400 Watt power supply

Is there something that I missed with the setup on the board? There are a few settings in the bios that pertain to the AGP card, what should they be set to? I just want to make sure that I don't have a defective board before the warranty runs out. Thanks for any help anyone can give me.
 
Sounds like the same problems I've been getting. I gave up in the end and RMA'd it back. Hopefully the new one won't overheat.
 
Yeah, I just RMA'd mine back to Newegg. I got, the card running pretty stable, but had to UNDERCLOCK it
by 10Mhz or so, and even then I was getting some graphics corruption in Serious Sam 2. I was checking out Newegg's customer reviews on the 4400 boards and it looks like there are some other boards that have a very high percentage of bad RAM chips. Check out the reviews on the Gainward board. Looks like Samsung has a whole batch or two of defective RAM chips.
 
I just RMA'd a MSI Ti4400 too for the exact same problem...I got mine from fticomputers... hopefully the replacement will last longer this time...bad memory chip sounds right...
