I just got my Epox 8RDA3+ (nForce 2 Ultra 400), and installation and setup was a breeze - still no crashes after intense benchmarking. However, it doesn't like 3D screensavers at all! The moment you try to switch to any 3D-saver, like Aquarium from WinXP plus pack, it begins to stutter severely. The cursor freezes, and CPU utilization shows 100%. Other screensavers work fine. My setup is:
Epox 8RDA3+ (nForce 2 Ultra)
2x256 MB Twinmos 400 MHz (in sync with FSB)
Geforce 4 4400
No serious overclocking
Audigy 2
WiXP SP1 fully patched
DirectX 9
Detonator 42.01 or 44.03 shows the same problem
nForce 2.03 chipset drivers
The only way I can get rid of the problem is by turning off graphis acceleration and write combining in the "troubleshoot" section od display properties... I don't know yet which one is guilty - will try more tomorrow. I wonder if anyone else also has this problem, and if not: which nForce2 drivers do you use? I saw the nForce 2.41 were pulled from nVidias site a few days ago for some kind of serious bug...
EDIT: Problem solved, it was the MSI 4400 fan that had stopped - probably dust, since it's spinning up fine every time now 🙂
