Trouble with Defender on 8? check here

There is a bad update screwing up Defender over the last week or so. Froze Defender and then my computer. To fix download the latest definitions from here http://www.microsoft.com/security/portal/definitions/adl.aspx and manually install. Freezes when you do a scan.

Just opened up my laptop and the same thing. Also win 8. If you open defender and it says to restart then you have the bad update. Got the info from this thread. http://www.eightforums.com/system-security/21764-windows-defender-0x800106ba-error.html
