Trouble with centered timings - AMD/ATI

I am running the latest Catalyst driver, 12.4. 12.3 was also problematic. Anytime I switch to a widescreen mode other than native, the screen scales to full screen with the option to select centered timings ghosted out. 4:3 resolutions work fine. I did not have any trouble prior to my upgrade running crossfired HD4850s and Catalyst 12.1. Scaling worked as expected. Any thoughts?

Will try straight HDMI cable now that I have a card with a native HDMI socket.

Is the scaling being implemented by your monitor or your video card? Maybe can turn off scaling for one or the other.
