Trouble with case & power supply

Well my computer has been down for the past few days. I ordered a new case + power supply, hsf, 2 rounded ide cables, and one of those vantec slot coolers (hadnt read the reviews). The hsf is something I needed and the case was just something I wanted. So I finally got most of the shipment today (will not mention where I ordered from yet). The IDE cables were not in the box so I emailed the company I purchased everything from. I did not hear anything from them today, but I just got an email from UPS with a tracking number. So the IDE cables are on the way. I have never put together my own computer, and I have never upgraded this much. I have installed simple things like sound cards, nics, video cards, ram, etc. But today I moved everything from the old case into my new case. I put the new hsf on my ole athlon. I got everything perfect (well as perfect as I care until the new cables arrive) and then I plugged it in. Well nothing happened. Actually, not nothing, I heard a very high pitch squeel (which could have been my imagination). I cursed, smoked a cigarette, then plugged the old power supply into the mobo. That power supply is working as well as it had before. This is the first time I have ever gotten anything DOA, ever. So I emailed the company and hopefully they will contact me so we can figure out what we are going to do about the situation. They took care of the IDE cables quickly (ok so they messed up the first time, they took care of it quickly), and I hope we can get the power supply issue taken care of. I will let everyone know what company this is and what my final experiences are with the situation once it is resolved. Thanks for reading this :)
